Today's radio listener is inundated with pop culture everywhere they go. The hype of modern media is unavoidable for the average 18 to 39 year old. Secular formats and brands have spent a great deal of time and energy developing modern, relevant and exciting brands on air.

It's time for Christian media to be just as relevant.

At the time ZION Media was launched, it was our belief that those of us on the Christian side of the dial were too far behind the curve when it came to competing with these modern brands.

Modernize or Melt Down
Although most Faith-based stations are not revenue driven as a primary goal, one must admit the necessity to remain culturally relevant in order to attract an audience and make a difference on any level. As a business person, one must also recognize the need to remain as relevant and relatable as possible in order to continue securing donations or advertisers and continue paying the bills.

Building A New Breed
Our team has spent the last several years taking all the skills, talents and tricks of the trade we have developed after years of programming secular Top40 radio in major markets across the country.

Now, we're taking those same principals, practices and reformulating the "Christian radio station" to being a force to be reckoned with in any market. The ZIONFM brand is strong, vibrant, energetic and so well produced and imaged, that the typical listener response is, "WOW, why has nobody done this before?! I'm addicted!"

This is why we like to say ZIONFM is a new breed of Christian Radio. Our goal is to provide programming and imaging that is just as powerful as our secular counterparts.

Music. Music. Music.
As a "Pop culturally relevant" brand, our focus is music. However, you won't find the same "positive and encouraging" AC mix here. That's been done time and time again. There's a new generation that is demanding more. They have told us they want Christian radio to be as "cool", as "fun", and as "exciting" as secular music formats across the country.

It's our mission to deliver on that need. Most young adults from 18 to  29 say they will not listen to standard Christian AC stations. They spend over 90% of their time listening to secular CHR & Hot AC stations in their market. They turn to those stations because, as of yet, there is no comparable Christian station that can meet the demands of their trained ears... UNTIL NOW!
